Dyson DC23

Alex,
I have had my DC23 for almost 2 months now. I am still very happy with the machine. I would buy another Dyson canister with the motorized nozzle IF they change the brushroll from the origial and replace the bulky wands with the newer style that came with my DC23.
I did have 2 rugs ruined by my Dyson DC07 and an early DC21. It also "fuzzed" several smaller rugs. This machine has a different design for the brush. Those stiff plastic brushes on some new cleaners SHOULD get the dirt! These might be less damaging on a wool carpet.
I love the floor brush and the soft dusting brush on this machine. There is truely NO LOSS of SUCTION and you cannot turn the machine over in use no matter how hard I try.
Now Jack has creatd an interest in the new Dyson upright, although I am not an upright person because I have many different rug and floor surfaces to clean and I do not like trying to use the tools with the Dyson upright.
This machine is very compact and NO DUST oder or leaking dust.
It is a very very user friendly machine.
Gad I got the machine. Thank you again Jack!

I finally tried the DC23 Turbinehead today....

and it's AMAZING. I've been told they pull 100+ inches of water, and it has massive airflow, it pulls a strong "woosh" of air into the hose, and you don't have to deal with a stretch hose and all of that power! Another thing I like is since it has a regular hose, none of the attachments have those awkward suction relief vents on them. I also really like the "trigger" suction relief and the color is great. I couldn't tip the machine over either. The Turbine-head is even more amazing, as mentioned above it spins as fast as a power nozzle, and it didn't even slow down when I stood on it! It is a little bulky but I can live with that. They're $329.99 right now at Frys and and $439.99 regular price at Sears and on sale for $373.99. This is *the* Dyson for me.

Also Rob, did you have to purchase the bare floor tool, stiff bristle brush, and soft dusting brush separate? On Dyson.com there is an offer for a free bare floor tool, but I emailed them and asked if I had to buy it through the website or if I could go to a retailer to buy it, they told me the offer is only good through the website.
