I went to a thrift store yesterday and picked up a Dyson DC23 Turbinehead for $30. So I did my normal little spa treatment on it and whatever.

It's terrible. Horrendous. Whatever word you can use to describe a horrible vacuum cleaner.

This vacuum was originally $400? Who wasted $400 on this vacuum?

The suction is rather strong (as with most Dysons.) It did fairly well on my hardwood flooring (which my main floor is made entirely of except for 4 area rugs) but my $120 Kenmore canister does a much better job of dusting my flooring.

I don't want to test it on carpet yet because I can't get the damn brushroll to spin. Now, I haven't tried anything outside of pulling the little red circle out, but that's why I'm here asking questions.

Overall, I'm putting this thing on Amazon/eBay when I finally post half my vacuum collection online for sale.

The red thing on the side is like a filter, check if that's clean, and if suction is coming from there. If there is, then it's the turbine on the inside. Ps The DC23 Motorhead is much better

Poor TASE, that $30 could've gone to something much better than a Dyson!

We did..it was easy we just walked in! Our friends with the car was already in there. It wasn't very well lit anyway lord I miss a good drive-in movie. We were gonna rent a limo with the hot tub in the back double axel of course

Now I want to interject something...the Turbocat Ex that I have is great with the central vac! I mean it really screams when it's on with such a high pitch whine wine wyne??? My spelling is off

I don't know if it would. I think for shag you would have to use straight suction. I use that sometimes here & am amazed at how hard it is to push the damn brush across the carpet. We are the 4th house once in the neighborhood & I had them purposely direct the exhaust towards the entrance of the block & when it's on you can hear it so far away, I wanted to make sure everyone know we have a central plus it's so quiet in here when someone farts outside you can hear it echoing

Ok let me rephrase that, get the Kirby with its optional shag-rake! I have one for my Classic, and my carpets are plush!!

If you wanted to have the whole neighborhood hear you vacuum, get a Bison! It'll groom that shag better than any other, as long as it doesn't break down!

I wouldn't want one as rare as they are...you could never use it for fear of breaking something on it. They should have made the handle grip bigger for that size of a vacuum. It was just too awkward & working on them, I didn't but the other guy did who I worked with. Some kirby parts will fit them but I can't remember which ones
