For 25 yrs, I have wanted a hoover lark. model 12. In the last week I have gotten 2 of them. I cant wait to get them at my house to try them out. My great grandmother had one it was cool to use. Here is one of them, Not my picture, though its the machine I bought I need a switch cover and a switch ball for it.If anyone has an extra let me know.

Shane,

Those are nice little cleaners. I had one in the late '80's - early '90's, the white colored one with the blue accents and bag with red lettering. I loaned it to a friend and that's the last I saw of it. I don't loan vacs to friends or family anymore. They don't appreciate or know how to maintain a vintage machine. They see v/c's as something that should work with little or no attention. I don't understand that reasoning.

Its funny how you search for a machine for so long and never get one or even see one then all of a sudden you find 2 or 3 of them.

Nice find I much prefer this to the Junior we got.

UUUGG! I could kick myself.

I receintly saw one in VERY good condition near a dumpster at a Senior Apartment center, with a bunch of other stuff.

An elderly lady had passed, and the family was throwing out what was left after they took what they wanted, evidently.

The machine had the book and all the attachments in a bag hanging on the handle. It looked to be in good condition because the paint was NOT chipped or pitted, and no bumps or bruises that i could tell from a short distance.

I ignored my sense of GRAB IT WHILE YOU CAN. Now im sorry i did. Hope someone grabbed it before the trash truck got there.

Nice Finds Shane!

Congrats on getting not one, but two Lark 12's! Think you'll enjoy them when they arrive, they're a great little cleaner! I have a 12 myself, a gift from friend and fellow collector Norm Brown when he was downsizing his collection several years ago (Thanks again Norm!). Only wish I had the attachments and instruction book for it. Here's a pic of mine.

What a beautiful model! I don't recall seeing those before.

I presume there is a Hedlite behind that lens?

Congrats on finding 2 Hoover Larks. I had one several years ago, and I had to replace the switch plate and ball also. A local vacuum shop that had been a Hoover-authorized repair center had a replacement ball/plate set. Hoover manufatured them in a plain white color. They are paintable. You might be lucky enough to find a dealer that can locate a ball for you (that doesn't sound good, does it?!)

Briankirbyclass..

you're killin' me!

I imagine i have left a number of vacuum treasures behind. I used to go to thrift stores all the time in the early 80's looking for clothes or records. I wonder what vacs i walked right past probably being sold for a buck or two..

Model 14 Lark

Okay I am a pig, I have four model 14 Larks (Blue and white one) One is in excellent condition and two are in okay condition just need to be serviced. And one needs a new fan I think it is very rough sounding. I just haven't had the time to tear it apart to see what is wrong with it.I am going to keep two and the other ones I will be selling off whern I start downsizing my collection.. Dan
