Actually David Fred and I have it. We used it with Terry many times at his home in Florida. It is very special to us and we want to keep it as it is one of the few things we have from Terry.

Just a Thought:

For various reasons, we can't always have the exact item that belonged to someone we loved.

But what we can do is to purchase one just like it in the person's memory. I have done this more than once, with the result that I'm reminded of the person each time I look at or use the item.

No, it's not quite the same, but it is something that keeps the person alive for me, and for that reason, I recommend it in cases like this.

Not to be a tease, David ...

... but I have one.

Got it on eBay several years ago from a gay couple who buy up old appliances and completely refurbish and resell them.

But this particular mixer, they told me, was virtually NEVER USED. It sat on this woman's countertop since 1958 purely for show. The cord had dry-rotted and the mechanics needed to be de-gunked and re-lubed. But the writing on the back dial looks like it was just printed yesterday.

I use it frequently, and I love love love how powerful yet quiet it is (my little hand-held Black and Decker, on the other hand, was loud like a freaking power drill!)

Good luck in finding one for yourself. And if and when you do, a word of advice I'll pass along from the guys who sold me mine: USE IT! At the very least turn it on and run it for a full two minutes at least once a month. It's the only way to keep those mechanics from getting gunked up.

The same goes, of course, for any vintage mechanical appliance, including vacuums.
