I saw a Kenmore one at the local flea-market a while back, it was quite the sight to see!

Oh and Mark, look at those beautiful asbestos tiles!

Iron Rite!

Once you learn how, these do any ironing faster and better, you can turn out shirts twice as fast as a hand iron!

I guess this wasn't found in many homes back then, I know she was a seamstress & worked in a factory making clothes in Allentown Pa.

Mark, you'd have a blast at my house, all the bedrooms and the hallway still has the original 1960 asbestos tiles! Only my room and the 3rd bedroom (vacuum storage) has the tiles exposed. I'll try to get a picture for you later!

Oh, and what is Velox?

They sure are, Mark! My grandmother and grandfather built this house in 1960, and it's been in the family since day one (except from 1992-2007, when grandmother moved and rented out the house). We had SEVEN layers of vinyl in the kitchen, we unfortunately lost it when the kitchen was remodeled and ceramic tile was laid. There was vinyl in the den, too, but it also became tile. The asbestos tiles were covered by carpet many years ago. My room took a step back to 1960 when my cats ruined my carpet (I still love my cats!), but it matches the 1960s appliances I keep in my room (8-Track player and a GE clock-radio, the tv is still 1986!).
