Hi,

I recently moved to a smaller abode and found that I had no place for the 2 vacuum cleaners that I have, which are a Hoover Aquamaster and a Dyson DC02.

I decided to give the Dyson a clean and put it in the loft as a spare and use the Hoover as the main machine, I thought I would put some new filters in the Dyson after cleaning it.
Looking online for spares I was made aware that the model I have is a very rare beast, and very much sort after by collectors, it is the Recyclone model with the serial number: 713-A-011956 and Date: 13/06/97.

I was intrigued by this and contacted Dyson(and this forum) for some information via their Facebook account, and was informed that my machine would have been one of the first machines produced of this model that went on sale in July 1997, I also read on various websites that only around 400 were produced, as the idea of using recycled plastic for this model was not viable due to the need of other materials having to be added to the mix to make it useable.

I am not a collector of vacuum cleaners, and finding out that the Dyson is very rare and fetches a high price it would seem silly putting it up in the loft, I therefore have it for sale to someone who will appreciate it, and I should get enough to purchase a new top of the range Dyson, or more it would appear.

The good points are: it is the Recyclone model in working order, and cleaned up well.
The bad points are: the power cable retractor does not lock out and there is a little wear from the plug brushing the casing when retracting, also the tools are not the originals.

Not sure of the best place to sell it yet so any advice would be welcome, would probably get a better price over in the States but postage might be a problem and ebay seems to be too hit and miss.

Thanks
