I picked up this Patriot in August. I saw it in the want ads for $25 then the next day when I was going to call him he re-listed it for $5!
The Power Nozzle is toast but it cleaned up nice and has great suction after I pulled the paper clog out of the hose. I measured 75 inches of lift with my tester.

Then in September I found a DXL at a thrift store for $12! Just needed a quick clean-up. The Turbobrush had the base plate on wrong I bet that is why someone donated it. This one pulls 80 inches.

Then last week I found a Compact in the want ads. The lady wouldn't budge from $20. This one had a hard life. It has some powdery stuff on it that won't scrub off. It runs smooth and pulls 62 inches.

Nice finds! Three of the finest canister vacuums ever made.

Out of curiosity, what power nozzle did the Patriot come with? These days they ship with a Wessel Werk EBK360, which would be a really good choice for a replacement if you're interested in function more than fidelity to the original design.

That's a Compact C-6 and is from the mid 60's. I love my Patriot that I bought from Hopester (here on vacland) and I really enjoyed conversing with the people at Patriot when I ordered the bags for it. If you ever want to know the date of it just call them and give them the seriel number. They have every number in the system. I believe that one prabably came with the L shaped Sebo head am I right?

That's an EBK360. If you can't get it fixed under warranty from Patriot, you can order a new one from Wessel Werk for much less than Patriot wants to charge.
