What are people's experiences in the last few years with the customer service of various companies when product problems arise with vacuum cleaning (or other home) applicances? I'm interested in stories of how easy or difficult it was to get issues resolved.
 
I recently ordered some parts directly from Hoover for my Hushtone upright. Their website is apparently being redone and it didn't show any parts or supplies for it. The lady on the phone was super nice, told me the parts I wanted were indeed in stock ( even ones that some on line sellers were showing as NLA ! ) and was kind enough to e-mail pdfs of the parts diagram for the Hushtone along with a parts diagram and service manual for my Insight ( not the owners manual but the manual a tech would use to test the electronics and disassemble it for repairs, such a complex vacuum and way too fragile ). I can't say enough nice things about how Hoover treated me. Very happy.
