Hey cats

One of my first vacuum cleaners was my hoover constellation and I love it dearly (despite its rough cosmetic apearance) However I have never seen another like it so I am unsure of the model number and the date to it. I can only give my best shot at describing it to you. The bottom half of the machine is jade green, The top half is off white, The switch is red and the badge sits under the hose. My only guess is that it was made at the same time as the jade green juniors. so around 1969-ish?

Thank you guys very much, I will be restoring the machine soon with my good friend and hope to get it to original condition.

Charlie

PS: If any of you have a spare constellation handle/wand/carpet nozzle/ other small attachments and attachment locks would you? lol

Jade Green Connie

Those Connies are rare in my experience, in 9 years of collecting I do not recall coming across any of them - although I have seen all of the rest of them in one state or another. If you post the serial number, you will be able to get an accurate date on it

Hey Al

Thank you so much, its kinda reasuring lol. I cannot post the serial number as the small plate with it on had fallen off before I bought it. I myself have never seen another one in my life so I feel quite privaliged lol (spite the matter that I cant use it properly at the moment)

maybe I can help

Hello Charlie,
I have one of those constellations in jade green and off white in my collection, I'll check out the serial number and will post some pictures as well. According to my experience it should be made around 1970, before the version in light blue and off white and right after the series of the late Sixties whose color scheme was two tone greyish green.True thet the jade green model is very rare, in several years of collection I found only one!!!
Take care, Tommy.

serial number

Hello, the serial number on my jade green Constellation mod 867 A is in a circular metal label riveted to the very center of the bottom of machine, while later models had black rectangular adhesive labels and serial number is : I.C. 124518.
Can any of you interpret it?
Tommy

Hey Ken, great to see you!! Love those countertops!! It is way to cold here as well. I'm ready for the hot weather to return.LOL

Dating cleaners

No, not in THAT way!
Tommy
If I am not mistaken the date of your cleaner would be February 1971.

Charlie
Those handles crop up on ebay from time to time. By the way, I think the jade Green Juniors are quite rare too

Close but no cigar

Sorry Edgar, I believe that to be the Smoke Pine/Swedish Green version (although in my opinion a very attractive combination) where we are (I believe) talking about the next version, which has a white top and a rather darker green base - the Junior 1346 also appeared in this colour combination

Edgar, mon ami! Something IS wrong with your computer.....

The red Hoover logo on the Connie does indeed come out BLUE on my computer! I did not believe what others were talking about but it's true! This means that all the other colours are off too - so what we see in the photo are not the exact colours in the original photo.

This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen on the internet....does anyone have any serious idea why pics that Edgar posts are always showing up in the wrong colours?

Edgar, try and post a graphic of something with colours and label the colours for us and we can then see which colours are coming showing correctly and incorrectly. Maybe even try the official Olympic Games logo with the coloured rings.....
