My apologies if I already asked this before, but I am wondering why the founders of the Mexican company Koblenz used that name. Were the founders originally from Koblenz, Germany? Is there some connection between the German town and the Mexican company?

I read that the company was founded in 1959 as a manufacturer of electrical components…but no explanation for naming the company after a location in Germany.

As an aside…at some point in the 1960’s Koblenz must have signed some agreement with Eureka Williams to sell modified Eureka vacuums in Mexico.

I don't know if it was named after a German town but I do know for certain that they acquired Hoover's old plant in Mexico where they make the Endurance direct air uprights and shampooer, the rest are leased from different companies.
