The...CR99 has a little "arm" so to speak that gets pressed in as the bag is pushed on. Once the bag is on and the arm is fully depressed it activates a microswitch that allows the machine to turn on. If it isn't actuated the machine will simply illuminate the "Check Bag" light when the power switch is turned on. The CR79 doesn't have that feature.
