Hi!
I had to change name (previous drsnuggle) as I forgot my password.

I just bought a Miele S8000 MR408 2200w motor. I know how to change the motor for the Miele C3 range. My question is:

Is there something to consider when upgrading a Miele C3 (1200w) to the S8000 MR408 2200w?

I have sparse experience with electrics so I do not my apartment to burn down or me being electrified. Can the vacuum itself burn out if I almost dubble up the watts?
The motor was sold at amazon.co.uk and they say it fits with the C3 range.

(the picture show another motor, but the delivery is the right one)

Thank in advance / Jakob

I think it would be relatively safe as long as you wire everything in properly, provided the circuit boards in the recipient machine are compatible. You may need to swap them as well to essentially trick the motor into thinking it's mounted in the machine it was intended for. This is why I prefer older machines that have AC motors and no circuit boards. It's just simpler that way.
