I just ordered some new bags for my Hoover canister from Hoover . I noticed that they have changed the shape of the bag and they have replaced the sturdy plastic collar with a thin cardboard collar.
I have not used the new bags yet BUT I hope it does not give the same results as the Kenmore/Panasonic canister bags do which allow the dirt to escape into the bag compartment and filter.
Also notice that the Hoover emblem has been removed.

Second shot of bag and collar.
It may prove to be ok but I want to make sure I don't get dirt escaping into the bag compartment, filter and motor.
Not sure why they would change the shape of the bag.

Hoover no longer makes their own bags. Those are bojack bags, of the poorest filtering quality, being sold as 'genuine', mostly because Hoover doesn't care about the old machines. There are so few Spirits left in service. You'll get tons of dust in the compartment as well as dust belching from the exhaust.

If anyone

is interested I have available a total of 6 not 5 packs of K bags before TTI. I have 3 packs of Type S bags #4010064S, 5 packs of Type S Allergen bags #4010100S.I also have 2 packs of Type Z bags #4010075Z and 7 Type Z Allergen Bags #4010100Z.These are all pre TTI in 1999.

John,
Save 2 packages of the regular "K" bags for me. Thanks

Tom,
Thanks for the tip. No need to give them any more business.

That looks like a big decrease in quality? Would a Kenmore E bag fit instead of the C? Not that it would make a big difference.
