Well, here it is....I spent some time in my storage shed today to make room for the organisational activities that will be taking place later this month. I happened upon this:

This was given to Terry Lattz by some friends of ours - and on one of my trips down to Terry's - he slipped this in the trunk of my car when I wasn't looking.

Two things real wrong with it....the runners in the first picture are of course on backward. And in this picture (for whatever reason), the red behind the lettering doesn't line up!

At one time, this machine had either been "redecorated" before as scraped off grayish wrinkle paint is showing hammertone blue underneath. That, or it was one that had been done that way by the factory toward the end of the XXX run -

Too bad it's all rusted....this is the RAREST of all Lux XXX's ever! This one came with a manually operated cord winder!

The underbelly. I am assuming there was a sale on gray wrinkle paint the day this unit was painted.....

This machine had been in storage inside a Golden J Electrolux factory box.

I'm keeping the box.....

This machine is for sale. I'm asking $350.00

Well worth the price. The cordwinder alone is worth that.

Enjoy,

Rick

Just Shoot it....

...and put it out of its misery! And yes, I bet it still runs great!!! After all, it's a vintage Electrolux!

what a sorry looking Lux

It looks like something that was salvaged from the Titanic!  Still, there are restorers who love a real challenge.

Rumor has it that you were

off  you're meds again, so I can only surmise that all VCCC members now know that to be true.  I can't help but think that this is somehow "universally" connected to a certain hair malfunction in the not too distant past.  [Those curlers were wound tighter than I thought].  Then, to make Terry the culprit, when all he ever tries to do are good deeds for everyone he knows, I'm sure that he will be crushed that you are trying to profit from his heartfelt gift to you.  By the way, does it come with a fitting cord to wind on that cute little halo?  Let me know!

Terry? Terry do good deeds? HA!

Who was it that let me into his home when I wasn't invited at the first annual Terry extravaganza three years ago?

Well, OK - that was Terry.

Then who went with me to New Britain and held a cold washcloth on my head the entire plane trip 'cause I ain't been on a plane in forty years and sung the Village People's Macho Man in my ear until we landed?

So what - that was Terry too.

Fine. I won't send him a bill for the extra gas it cost to haul that monstrosity back to Georgia. The way I figure it, that's about $4.13

Happy?

Well after seeing the one Brandon just posted that was listed for $20,000 I think this  should be worth at least 350.  Can't remember if we tired it out Rick or not.  Seems like we did and it did run but I could be wrong on that.  That cord winder should be worth the asking price along.

No, I ain't Happy, yet..........

How am I supposed to  write a check for a dream machine if I don't know that the custom cord winder even works?!  I mean the last time I went blindly into a dream machine, a SEARS 1963 UPRIGHT, I was absolutely damp with excitement!  Well, to my dismay and utter disappointment, what arrived at my doorstep was some vacuum cleaner that was obviously a bojack job from some little dealer that had a name of Universal on it.  How original is that?!!  It sure was a pretty blue color and even had a very nice matching attachment set, but it sure wasn't the SEARS 1963 UPRIGHT that I was led to believe and lusted after.  So, hopefully you'll understand my concern that this rare Electrolux XXX functions as it should.  I think that is not asking too much.  Afterall, if  I'm willing to pay for it, I would like to know how well the XXX functions.

Thank You in Advance,

<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: medium;">I've never seen an XXX with a cord halo. It would have to have been juryrigged to fit onto the back of an XXX, so I have a feeling this was a "Home Tinkerer's Special."</span>

Silverlux,

This unit functions quite well. It is the best door stop ever built. I did test it with a 20' length of cord that is attached to my 1963 Sears Kenmore upright. The upright is just sitting there anyway, while I print up more Universal stickers.

This is all a moot point now however, as I have received a payment of $629.32 as a Buy-It-Now offering on EBay.

Thanks for your interest,

Rick

What A Lucky Guy You Are- - - - - - -

I must say, you always seem to land on your feet!!........How nice for you......I'm sure that Terry will be thrilled as well, since he originally gifted that specimen to you, I'm sure that you're planning to split the winnings with him.  How simply generous of you!!  As for me, well there will be another one of those coming down the pike...I am a patient person, afterall.

Thanks for your correspondence!
