Hey guys, I just did a video review of my Breville blender and I thought I'd share it here since I know some of you are into smaller appliances as well. I usually only make vacuum cleaner videos, but my sewing machine video has really helped people make a decision and I get weekly e-mails telling me how grateful people are for it and asking questions about it... it makes me feel good to help people, and it's really fun to do! Thank you to the people here who taught me how to reduce the size of videos though Windows Movie Maker.... what used to take 380 minutes to upload and about 38 attempts now takes 20 minutes, and one attempt, and the quality hasn't been affected at all! Yay!

What's your favorite blender, btw? Do any of you have a modern one, or is everyone here into vintage? Any Vita-mix fanatics? I know they have almost a cult following!

oops

I meant to post this in the off topics section... I usually only post in Contemporary so out of habit, I did... so sorry! Any chance we could move this to the correct category?

Thanks!

I have the same model of Breville blender that is in your video. It just won't compare to a VitaMix or Blendtec. Both the VM and Blendtec will make better smoothies and 'shakes than the Breville. The Breville is underpowered I think. It needs a more powerful motor to turn all of those blades.I don't mind the noise of the VM or Blendtec-and unlike the Breville they don't have that 1 min on feature. You can run them as long as you like-but don't need to.in fact my older Oster Imperial is better than the Breville. Its quieter even still and I bought it for $5 at a yard sale.the Breville cost me $150 from the Linens and Things going out of business sale.I think the higher end Breville may be a better machine(800 model I think)Than the one we have.the mixed fruit smoothie I tried to make in the Breville was pithy-from the VM,Blendtec or the Oster-was truely smooth. No pithy bits.I don't core the oranges I put in my smoothies-just peel them. You need a powerful machine to break up the pith in the center of oranges-and with strawberries-the Breville couldn't pulverize the strawberry seeds-only the Blendtec and VM could do that.the Oster couldn't either.Since I watched your video clip will drag out my Breville and make my Choco-Banana breakfast 'shake in it.It works good for that.Have to run it for a few cycles to pulverize the wheat germ I add to the shake.Of course the Blendtec and VM pulverize the wheat germ with no problem.
