I've finally tracked down a version of the Junior 375 I've wanted for ages; its earliest incarnation, made from 1936-'38. Note the black stripe which runs down the centre of the front casing, as a streamlined-styling cue shared with it's bigger brothers, Models 475 and 825. All 3 machines had benefitted from a restyle by Henry Dreyfuss.
It was in very nice condition when I got it out of it's packaging, but the motor sounded oddly high-pitched. I separated the motor from the fan casing and found the cause of the problem:
