So I think this plasticvac is just about the cheapest one sold in the U.S.A. Typically selling for around $40 new, I've spotted it on sale for as little as $25. So when I spied one at a local Goodwill for $5 in good working condition, I couldn't resist what should be the worst new vacuum possible...or is it?

The worst vacuums today will be the rarest 10 years from now. Let that sink in. I mean look how hard it is to find that clunky Hoover Z700.

Nice video. I am always shocked by these little machines that they keep going! I have saved??? many full sized Bissell and it's always folks who totally ignore the filters, lower clear hose plugs, ect. Clean them out after who knows how long running HOT from restricted air flow and they go another 4-5 years, Damn!

An air compressor turned up to 100psi with a precision blow gun does wonders on those non-washable baffle filters. I did that last summer to my Eureka Optima as I was unable to get a new filter at the time, it works like brand new again just by blowing all the caked in dirt out of all the crevices.

I'd definitely be following up with a real vacuum once done!

Boy, how embarressing for me. I do one room with the Shark and it's so full it's kicking the motor protector vent in and out.

So true! A lot of rare vacs from the past are only rare because so few survived. Things like the Westinghouse Convert-O-Vac come to mind, they sold quite well back in the day, but as collectors who I've known to have them have told me they were very crazily built compared to other machines of the day.

This vacuum is best used for target practice.

It's bad, no doubt about it, but it's not actually as craptacular as I would have expected for the price. It actually did better than the Dyson DC65 on the sand test.
