Bissell Little Green

So I found something at Goodwill yesterday that I'd been sort of looking for over the past couple of years—a Bissell Little Green steam cleaner. One of my cats has a bit of a week stomach and barfs up her food on a pretty regular basis. While this is no problem on hard floors, it's hard to keep up with on carpet or fabric upholsterey. We'd had one of these when I was married but I left it behind with the ex-wife in 2003 and never looked back. But I remember it working quite well on carpeted and upholstered surfaces so it's been on my list of things to watch for.

It seems like every time I'd see a Little Green at Goodwill, it was either incomplete, overpriced or both but this one checked all of the boxes and then some. It's complete, in its original box with all of its paperwork and it has two nearly full bottles of cleaning solution, plus a spray bottle of some sort of pre-treatment solution. The thing had obviously seen at least a little use but was nonetheless well cared for. And for $12, which was about half what they normally run in worse condition, it was really a no-brainer.

Lily's tummy is doing okay today but when the inevitable does happen, I'll be ready. Meanwhile, I just need to find an old stain or two on which to try it before the 10-day return period expires.

I have the larger Bissell pro pet, before that I had the Hoover version of the little green which I swear was made by the same company. All of the units have had issues with the o-rings sticking and not working on the trigger of the nozzle be sure and rinse everything out with water before you put it away That's my best guess. They are handy, Felix scarves down his wet food too fast about once a month and there it is, I was told to raise the food dishes a few inches so I'm trying that Good luck

Is this model around 18" tall? I don't have mine in front of me. Was wondering if you've used yours as of yet? Has two white containers up front, a decent sized green vinyl hose, and the spray attachment. Mine was about a year old when plucked from the dipsy dumpster. It works ok, but I wasn't thrilled with performance and it is almost as loud as the larger tank cleaner on castors.

It doesn't have very good spraying pressure, so I find myself pre-spraying in advance. Just curious what your results have been.

My vet advised the same about raising the pet dishes a little higher. I took it another step and placed their water bowl which is about 7"tall and keep it on the bathroom counter top,they like that and the water stays cleaner up off the floor.

Story

When I first used our Bissell i would spray scrub and use the hose attachment to such up the water.
My wife came in laughing at me. Apparently on the hose the part I thought was for the cleaner got sprayed out actually sent the wa t er I just sucked out onto the carpet
My $1800 water bed which was basically a mattress with the water pock inside. The frame ducked and it basically drained out everywhere in our 225 soft room.
The moral is read the manual before using.
