Bissell. Good or bad

What are your opinions ofbissells? I think they are pretty good vacuums but I was at the doctor and I saw a Bissell powerforce bagless there. I could've sworn that last year they had a sani5are. I could just tell it was neglected. This isn't the exact one I saw but it's just to show how dirty it was.

Didn't really knew Bissell that much when I was growing up. My mother had a Little Green machine that I used to watch when I was a kid and it was one of my favorite vacuum memories.

Are Bissell vacuums good in my opinion: I'd say some like the Big Green commercial line up, the Cleartrak that was made for Amway, the push sweepers, and their older vacuum cleaners like the Prolite for example. I guess I could also add the very first powerforce bagged upright because I thought that was a good vacuum. All the other models I do not recommend.

Do I overall recommend Bissell in my opinion? No. The warranty service is terrible, most of their quality on the residential models is very cheap and flimsy, horrible filtration on most of their models, and they do not last. They work but there's better.

The Cleanviews and Powerforces are good machines.

I've had tons of bissells, some were great, some were good, and some I wouldn't have in my collection even if you paid me. However, I do have a soft spot for cleanview style machines. My number one dream machine is a red bissell cleanview revolution from 2004. Mainly because it is the first vacuum I have memories of, that and a 1997 dirt devil featherlite (Another dream machine)Currently I have an original(ish) Bissell powerforce bagged which is a great machine, a 2005 bissell cleanview II another great machine, a 2011 bissell rewind powerhelix, and a 2014 powerforce helix. The only two bissell vacuums I removed from my collection was a Bissell Cleanview helix and a bissell powerforce turbo. Both vacuums were great but I threw them out when I thought I outgrew vacuums. As a matter of fact I've been trying to find and collect all the bissell cleanview vacuums

I owned one of the ones in the picture once

I owned the maroon and yellow cleanview. It used to be my mom's vacuum and she gave it to me in 2014 and bought a shark rotator. I used it as my daily driver and it burned out in March of this year. Really wish I still had it

Bissell? Good? Lol.

The bagged machines aren't terrible, and none of their vacs are very bad cleaners. The bagless machines are atrocious when it comes to filtration. I would never use a bagless Bissell in my house, the vacuum cleaner you use has a huge effect on your indoor air quality. My grandmother has two Bissells and a Shark, one vac on each floor. One Bissell is the older Pet Hair Eraser, the filtration is absolutely horrible. Her newer Bissell Powerglide Pet also has horrible filtration, a couple of thin foam filters with no seals.

I leave a Filter Queen at her house, so I'm not a terrible grandson for letting her use the Bissells. I help her clean every couple of weeks, but the Filter Queen doesn't get used besides that. She says it's too heavy.

Their carpet cleaners aren't too bad, my grandmother has two upright shampooers from them along with a Spot Bot and the newer small cleaner. One of the shampooers only sprays on half of the nozzle, and the other one leaks. They both do a decent job of cleaning the carpets so if you're okay with buying a new one every couple of years then they're good.

About the only Bissell that i don't think is horrid is the bagged powerforce. I gave one to my uncle, who killed a hoover T series in a year, 3 years later he's still using it.

Even that machine though is not great. If you replaced the cheap plastic roller with a cwp wood one it wouldn't be bad.

I have used a Powerforce bagless, the cheap purple one with no headlight. It was a very lightweight machine and easy to push and manuever. The noise did not seem bad but it may have been the acoustics of the room. As far as cleaning the dust filters, no way, too messy and nasty of a job. The bagged one would be much better. The cord wasn't very long was my only real drawback to the machine. The hose also did not have much reach as it wasn't the retracting type, but at least it didn't coil back and topple the machine over on you.

We have one of the ProHeat carpet cleaners a relative gave us, seems to work ok, fairly quiet.

New powerforce bagged

I bought the new bissell powerforce on Friday and I love it. It is fairly quiet and cleans well. It is an awesome vacuum

I think what it all comes down to, bagged Bissells tend to be nowhere near as bad as the bagless. Bissell did have some American flavor in their machines, maybe Korean for that relationship with Samsung they once had. Bottom line, Bissell is a Wal-Mart favorite.

Bissell tried to make a good vacuum twice in the past 20 years

5770 sold for $250-300 USD
16N5 sold for $190-250 USD
both where Dyson killers but price and the bad name of Bissell made them fail in the end .

I still would not buy one

Healthy Home

Ah, we had one of those old blue healthy homes show up in our last shipment of used machines. The main drawbacks of it were it's weight and the fact that it still only used a piece of foam as a pre filter. I never really got to properly try the thing though as one of the motor supports were broken. It didn't seem bad though....for a Bissell.

I don't think they make any bagged canister vacuums, and since I don't like uprights, I would not be interested in anything they make, not to mention the quality is no where near as good as Tacony, Miele, Sebo, and the other high end brands. When it comes to bagless, the only good bagless machines are the water filtration machines that use a separator. Anything else will have the two big problems of bagless machines, a dust cloud in your face when you empty it and clogged filters. A while back they had a model of the Big Green that was kind of interesting, it was kind of like a shop vac but it could also scrub floors, I'm not sure if that is still made.

I believe they do still sell a number of bagged canister, I don't believe any of them have power nozzles though. I used to have a Bissell Zing and it was actually really decent for a $40 canister. I used Simplicity style Z HEPA bags in it and they fit perfectly.

I don't trust the Bissell's and wouldn't want to buy one for my house but even so, it's been around 5 years since my father has a bagless upright Bissell and he still uses it.

I have been running a bagless Bissell PowerForce exactly like the one in the first picture for 8 years now. It isn't horrid, but definitely not Kirby levels of clean. The switch went out and the brush was seized, but
I got a replacement brush. It's a pretty cool vacuum
