It looks like somebody tried to cheap out on the charging circuit for the battery pack and it couldn't handle the load.

I never knew Bissell did that. I know they have maintenance trucks for the Big Green rentals but never knew they did that for residential users.

Also I wish we knew how many vacuums were produced for every vacuum without having a recall tell us. Would be a lot easier to judge rarity of a particular model.
 
No surprise.

This isn't the first time that Bissell had to recall their vacuums to to fire hazards, way back in 2000, Bissell had to recall their now-forgotten PureAir vacuums due to faulty cords.
