Hey Guys!

I went to a local thrift store and they knew i was the vacuum kid. They saw this and was sure it went to a vacuum becuase of the brushroll. You tell me, did i watse a dollar on this huge heavy thing. Never seen one but if you guys tell me that it isn't anything important then if someone is in despriate need that wants one, heck just email me. I'll probably say you can have it but that is only if you tell me it isn't worth keeping. Here's a few pics.

Kyle

p.s. I think it is a eureka thing. By the way i rigged my power nozzle cord to it, it works great!!

Ummm

Thats a Don Clark Airway power nozzle.

If you got that for a buck you pretty well stole it.

Now go do your homework and find out the story behind it.

Hi Kyle:

I was just informed that these were and actual Air way PN too. I had thought the one in this picture was something that a vac shop jury rigged. Apparently not.

Someone else here has one of those, can't remember who though. It's quite an interesting and fun concept though not as practical as a regular upright. You should try and get the matching Airway to go with it and you'll have something quite neat.

Actually They Are Pretty Rare

These power nozzles were commissioned independently of the AirWay Company by Don Clark, then the largest AirWay (I believe) distributor who operated out of Milwaukee. This was in response to the demand for a power nozzle and the competition which AirWay wasn't responding to. They are indeed, Eurekas. AirWay was none too happy about Don's ingeninuity and he tells the story of how he almost lost his distributorship because of this. He kept it, however, and the rest is history. Shortly thereafter, AirWay introduced its own power nozzle which can be seen on another thread here.

Well Kyle, "rare" is a relative term. No, the Don Clark power nozzle is not as rare as a Hoover Model O, or the original Whirlwind, but it's rarer than a lot of other things you may run across. I have only ever seen one "in real life," and only know of a couple of people who have them.
