Yes Benny, our berber is the "modern" definition of berber, being just a relatively cheap looped pile carpet. I don't know how prone it is to brush roller damage, but I understand all berber carpets CAN be damaged by that.
I'll probably be on the lookout for a free and/or dirt cheap G series in my area, and buy a delicate brush roll, and the tile cleaning kit. That would make the most sense with my upcoming home floor situation. I don't have the heart to get rid of the Classic Omega, I'll most likely hold on to it, unless I can convince one of my siblings to use/own it 
They don't quite "get" the Kirby like I do.
