I took this vacuum cleaner to a Hoover shop. The man at the shop tried looking up the model number on the computer but he couldn't find anything about it. He said he had never seen anything like it before. To find a bag for it we had to contact a group of Hoover collectors in the UK. They had also never heard of this model before but they found a bag from something else that fit it anyway. It still works fine. The only problem with it is that the back wheels are missing. Besides that it is in good condition.
Make an offer if you're interested. Can organize shipping to anywhere.

Wow! That's a right good looker. Here in the USA that model would've been called a Hoover Spirit, and in the UK it would've been known as a Hoover Compact. Not sure what the name is for the type of bag it takes in other countries, but Hoover USA called the bag it uses a "Type K" bag. Personally, I'm not interested in it myself but I wish you much luck in finding it a new home.

Nope, these where called sprint cleaners over here in the UK, there was one sprint model that looked like the compact but the other two in the Sprint line up looked like this one shown

All three UK sprint models had bag check, piston indicators (unlike this one shown) and the BOL model was 1000 watts and was single speed with no cord winder (like the one shown) it had tools included but were not stored on-board and it was white and was model SC114...The MOL model was 1000 watts and was single speed, with a cord winder, on-board tools, it was green and was model SC116...The TOL model was 1100 watts and had variable electronic power, with cord winder, on-board tools and was white, the model was SC118 (this one looked similar to the Compact).

Hope this helps,

They were indeed originally called the Hoover Compact in the UK, although the range was later tarted up (in an effort to wring a little more life out of it) and renamed Sprint. This involved little more than a higher wattage motor and new colours, but other than that they were effectively the same cleaner as before. Later still, the twist-lock tools were dropped in favour of the cheaper friction fit style.

Remember there were two different types of Compact. First came this style...

Followed by this type...

I don't know if the latter was originally intended to replace the former. What actually happened was that both styles ended up running alongside each other at the same time, as part of the same range, offering more or less exactly the same feature sets. The choice was there simply for the sake of providing choice. This situation continued with the Sprint, hence why you have the SC114/SC116 style versus the SC118.

All these cleaners used the H10 bag as it was called in the UK. Genuine ones are still easy to get hold of, same goes for pattern copies.
