GREAT---Does this apply to vacuum collectors(Vacuumholics),or light collectors-portable and fixed(Flashoholics),Toasters-toasotholics? Well, I have a small collection of toasters-mostly from yard sales.They do work.Would this apply to mixers,food processors,blenders and disposers-have collections of those,too.
Love that cartoon! When I was a kid I imagined owning my own house with a secret-sub basement below the main basement that I would have lined up working washing machines just like the pictures in consumer reports. I figured I would have to keep it a secret as I was worried that people would think I was crazy.
Now that I'm an adult I have fulfilled that dream, however there is no need for a sub-basement as I quickly realized that I absolutely couldn't care less if people think I'm crazy. That's their problem, not mine lol!

I'm building a small collection of early elec/non-elec vacs;
early electric toasters; and, early elec/non-elec mixers.
Plus other early electric small appliances.
My neighbor saw them and said, "That's CRAZY !"
But, I think preserving history is less crazy than
letting it all end up in the dump!

Eureka began in Detroit. I read they left because of pressure to pay higher wages.
Then they were sold anyway. Chrysler is still here, still paying well.
Most companies get sold or just vanish.
GM's former add agency Campbell Ewald closed early last decade and many of their enmployes never found new jobs.
Robert has some set up for sure! I saw the youtube video of it from 2012 with Fred.
Fred appeared on Jay Leno when he was about eleven or twelve. Nice couple!
