Are there any USED appliance dealers anymore? Like for washers and dryers?

For Mother's Day I repaired and gave to my mom a "new" bicycle so she can ride with my step-dad. The bike is a 1976 AMF Roadmaster Nimble. Anyway, to make room, she has finally decided to get rid off the washing machine in the garage. It's not new but its far from antique, its probably about 8 years old or so. It quit working but I'm not sure what is wrong exactly, and I forget what was even broken! Anyway, I was wondering if there might be a used appliance dealer I can give it to or sell for cheap. It's not that old and I think somebody can make some money off of it if they know what they're doing.

I looked in the phone book and I see appliance repair but nothing for used appliance dealers.

There are..

TONS of used appliance dealers in the South, I know of three or four in Winston Salem alone.

There is actually one not too far from my home

hmm...any near Dayton, Ohio?

Reason ask is because I believe in REUSE, too many appliances that are either fixable or have good parts are scrapped which is wasteful.

Mike's furniture,& appliance in Chicago,has some great deals. They also have layaway. They're located on Ashland,& Milwaukee ave in Chicago.Vintage refrigerators, & stoves at L&L appliance,3240 Lawrence ave. Chicago. Ask for Moish. You'll ride in the freight elevator to I believe the 4th floor,where they keep the old ones.I bought a reconditioned 1957 Hotpoint 2 door,a few years ago for $250.00. It has a new compressor,& works great! You'll have to do some climbing,but trust me it's worth it! Restoration Ministries in South Holland,Il gets' a lot of vintage stuff.When granny dies they get a lot of the items from the estates.Reasonable prices,thursday is 15%off on furniture.Hammond salvage & resale,6730 Colombia ave .Hammond In.,also buys estates.They get vintage appliances,& are very reasonable. All of these places have delivery.

I know it's quite a drive from Dayton, but there's 3 or 4 used appliance dealers in Mansfield. Don't know if they're buying or not. It surprises me though, Dayton is much larger than Mansfield and I would think there would be several used appliance dealers there. Good luck,

Good news...

First, I want to thank you all for your help, secondly, I have a buyer coming at 9:00 AM tomorrow to look at the machine. He owns a shop in West Milton, OH.
