Hey if anyone is in the Dallas area.. there is a listing on Craigslist for an older Hoover. I don't collect this far back..

I'm not so sure...

Looks like it has a headlamp, so if it is a 700, it's one that's been retrofitted with a lamp-cap. I'd say it's a 750.

Should I get this machine.. I've never even used one before.. wouldn't know the first thing about repairing one or where to find parts..

They're not difficult to restore - I, and others on this forum, would be able to advise you if you get stuck!

Even though you currently don't collect this far back, it would be a great one to start with. As Jack said, they're not difficult to restore. And trust me--once you've tried one of the pre-war Hoovers with the round motor (or as they're often called, "coffee can Hoover"), you'll love them--I, and many others here, can vouch for that!!
