I really like the look of these things. It's a newer version of the old fashioned F and G style machines. I know it has the plastic handle and fan, but it still looks good and has the back mounted inflating bag and foot switch which I like.

I think the cord is pretty short though. Anyone have one of these, and if so, what do you think of it? I'm not going to pay 89 dollars for one on Ebay... but if I see one at a GoodWill or Thrift Shop for 15 bucks, it's coming home!

I like em too. I don't have that particular one but I have the red HOT SHOT model 1423. All the cardboard bits on the floor is from Pip chewing on a cardboard box at my feet while I'm on the computer.
Since I dug this one out I'm going to Youtube it.. was wondering which one to do next and so why not.

I do!

I bought one new for my Gram when they came out because it was light and easy for her to push. Now that she is 92 and does not vacuum anymore, it's my Aunt's preferred vacuum to use in the house. When I go over to visit, I give it the once over to keep it running well.

My Dad brought one over to the house ( my parent's house ) that he found on a curbside one day LOL! My parent's even look for vacuums for me!! LOL! Other than being dusty there was nothing wrong with it. It is now part of the collection!

They are really nice machines!

Black @White Eureka

Hi Bobby I have that same one. Found it about 5 years ago out to the trash. Works very well has a semi bad switch so i leave it in the on position as no vacuum store has a replacement switch. Take care Doug

I have one

New in the box I just bought. I have used these Vacs and they are really great at cleaning any kind of carpet. I would recommend one in a minute. Even tho I use and collect Royals, Hoovers and Eurekas I decided to buy one of these new and leave it in the box. I also bought the plastic set of black attachments to match. It is the last "old style" household Eureka makes. Let me go see where it was made. Oh Gosh, the box says it was made in Mexico :-(. Oh well, I have one of the last good uprights Eureka made. Good luck on finding one. You will like it for its light weight and power. Jim

I have 2

I got 2 eureka 1934's. got em both from a high school. new fans, belt and good cleaning and they were ok.

I have one I got at a flea market 2 years ago and it is great, the Vibragroomer II i slike new and the vac looks great excapt fo a few scratches in the hood that were deep enough to form some surface rust.
The cord is kind of short but I had a cord from another Eureka Boss that I spliced on to it and it now has a 30 some foot cord. grandma has it now and she uses it to clean her two carpeted porches. she also really likes this vacuum too.

Bobby,

Those were great vacuums. All plastic but still great cleaners. I have resqued several of them...most of the time a new belt, fresh bag and a little elbow grease...and they are back to like new condition.

Eureka Canada is selling these new!

I don't know where they are making them. Maybe we have a warehouse full of them up here across the border? Or maybe they are just basic plastic Sanitaires in old Eureka clothing. Anyhow, go to this web-page and you'll see what I mean - http://www.eurekavac.ca/uprights/1934A.shtml

I convinced a friend to buy one way back in the early 1990's. I think he got it in Detroit with a full set of attachments for only about $125.00 at one of the big department stores - maybe Sears. It is a fantastic carpet cleaner and gives you the basic features of the classic Eureka uprights of the 70's, except I think this version has a 5 amp motor which is more than you need. The F&G bag is gigantic and takes a while to fill.

So come on up for a visit when the weather gets warmer and you can get one new in the box!

Woder how much those new 1934's are?

Brian did you have a chance to go to Sams club to see the $79 Sanitaire?

Pete......not yet.....

I am really tempted to go and get a Sam's membership just to buy one of those Sanitaires. The cleaning crew where I work part-time is using a dinky Pro-team backpak vac for everything, including large rooms and offices with wall-to-wall carpeting. My employer is a non-profit organization and so a $79 Sanitaire would be a fantastic solution for them. I think the Sam's membership is 40 dollars, so even there, we are talking great value in an excellent, time-tested upright.

Is the $79 deal time-limited would you know?

Hope you are well and keeping warm in these last weeks of a far too long Canadian winter.....

I too have one of that Eureka upright. I had it given to me, put in a VG 11 and gave it to my 87 year old, former Mother in law. She sent it back with my daughter, said it quit working. Well it had the wrong belt on it, way too tight.
So the brush roll didn't work. The moter runs great and I had put a new filter zipper bag on it. It's green and White, with a headlight. I don't know the model #. I'll have to
ck and get a Eureka belt on it ! Then send it back to her,
as it was easy to use !! With good power !
