Anybody want these?

I have some old vacuums that I'll probably never get around to restoring or doing anything with so they might as well go to another collector. I can bring these to the convention if anyone is interested. I don't want any money for them, I just want them to go to good homes.

The first one is a Premiere Canister, it does run and the cord is not an original. There are no attachments with this one, just what you see. The vac is kind of rough but with a little love it could come back to life. The other one is a GE canister, in about the same shape, maybe a little worse, the rubber seal around the bag compartment is busted and the end won't clamp like it should. The cord looks more like an original but not in the best of shape, but not totally dried and cracking. It turns on but it may need some motor work, I only ran it for a second. They are both heavy so they would cost a lot to ship so I'd rather see someone pick them up at the convention.

Another..

Here is an Old GE Upright that needs lots of love. This one doesn't have a cord - I found it in the trash with the cord already cut off. So I have no idea if it runs or not. It looks like it is restorable, just beyond my means.

Oh Chad! I would very much like that fixerupper upright GE, as I have a manual for it and a whole bunch of GE's and they are kinda scarce up around here. Looks to have an original bag and most of the other important parts...and you know the sort of Vacuum Cleaner resurrections I do.

I'm asking right now in case this will put me at the top of the list.

While I am not going to be at the Convention - boohoo - Pete from Sarnia is and I'm sure he wouldn't mind tossing it into his vehicle along with everything else he'll be snapping up in North Canton.

I'm at work right now (and right through the weekend with four 12 hour days)but if this works for you I'll be in touch as soon as managable.

DAve, if you get this vacuum then you have to show pics of her after the restoration. I was with Chad when he found this. I would love to see it fixed up.

Another oddball handyman Special - note the thumbscrew on the XXX. Pete has suggested I exchange the shiny side bits over to the Blue 1947 Lux approved bojack 1947 XXX and polish out the ribs on the bag cover. A good idea because then I could preserve the hammertoned side trim for posterity.

The Jewel of a GE is just underneath all the rust, corrosion and scale. Should I strip it to metal and polish it up or attempt a Crevicetool intervention and find brown crinkle paint?

What a nice new bunch of projects

I had a similar GE upright in my pre-collecting days. I lent it to a friend who left it in the rain. I never wanted to see it again. I vote for brown crinkle paint.
