This listing, entitled "KIRBY CLASSIC OMEGA UPRIGHT VACUUM w TOOLS + HOSE" is of course not a Classic at all but a much older Model 3C.
I had been keeping my eye on the listing because it has an original Kirby box and what appears to be a really nice early bag, although not an original black 3C bag - it's a gray bag from the 509-512 models.
Anyway, I wondered why the seller cut off the photo instead of showing the entire machine with the top of the handle. Then someone posted a question asking about the bag and the seller answered, "No holes except for a little fraying up at the top of the bag where the little piece of wood piece that connects to the handle to hold the bag up."
Okay, "what's wrong with this picture?" Well, there is no "little piece of wood" that connects the bag to the handle. There's an aluminum collar that slips across the top of the bag, hidden by the top cuff, and attached to that is a chrome chain that hooks onto the handle. So this bit about a "wooden piece" makes me think the bag has been jerry-rigged somehow.
Also, there's a mishmosh of attachments, and some sort of white or light gray replacement cord has been crudely spliced with black tape onto a short length of dark-gray cord.
Finally, the item description is bloated with a bunch of nonsensical rambling about "corporate lackeys" and Farberware and a lot of other stuff that sounds like disconnected non sequiturs.
All in all, even with the nice bits, it seems a mess. The winning bid on it is almost $200.00. I hope the winner isn't disappointed when they get this machine.
