Tania Voight informed me of the passing of Mark Thomas, a friend, VCCC member and vacuum collector. Here is what I found on his obituary:

MARK A. THOMAS Mark Alexander Thomas of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 on his 62nd birthday, following a two year battle with Leukemia. Mark was born in Corning, NY to Robert D. Thomas and Lucille A. Thomas. He grew up in Corning, Bradford, PA, and in Wilmington, where he graduated from Hoggard High School in 1971. He attended UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Wilmington. He worked for New Hanover Department of Social Services until 1982 when he was hired by Piedmont Airlines as a flight attendant. Mark most recently worked with US Airways until his retirement. Mark is survived by his mother Lucille Thomas; three sisters, Bonnie McQuillen of Charlotte, Danna Lowery and husband of Atlanta, and Terry Snyder and husband of Raleigh; three nieces and one nephew. To honor Mark's request, no memorial service is planned. Please consider a memorial gift to the SECU Family House in Chapel Hill or the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation in Wilmington. Hi Ken.

I just looked at the obituary, and as it has no mention of the VCCC I decided not to post anything on the guestbook. If you feel it's fitting to do so please say that the Vacuum Cleaner Collector's Club sends condolences. As I didn't know Mark I feel it's not my place to do so.

To Tania (airwaylady) my prayers are with you and Mark, if there's anything I can do just ask.

Alex Taber.

I saw Mark last at the Milwaukee VCCC convention. He seemed like a very kind man and a gentleman. He had been a collector for a long time.
