MARK A. THOMAS Mark Alexander Thomas of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 on his 62nd birthday, following a two year battle with Leukemia. Mark was born in Corning, NY to Robert D. Thomas and Lucille A. Thomas. He grew up in Corning, Bradford, PA, and in Wilmington, where he graduated from Hoggard High School in 1971. He attended UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Wilmington. He worked for New Hanover Department of Social Services until 1982 when he was hired by Piedmont Airlines as a flight attendant. Mark most recently worked with US Airways until his retirement. Mark is survived by his mother Lucille Thomas; three sisters, Bonnie McQuillen of Charlotte, Danna Lowery and husband of Atlanta, and Terry Snyder and husband of Raleigh; three nieces and one nephew.
