In just a very few short weeks, I'll be making my annual trip to the holy Land. Not Jerusalem, but North Canton. to see Tom Anderson, his family, my friends, and to celebrate Hooover's birthday, where it all began. I spoke with Tom the other night. I'll be going there shortly, bringing my mask, etc.
Oh, the fun times we'll have, no doubt.
I always bring fun baked things from the kitchen here. They enjoy them a lot.
Finally, something nice and 'normal', after all of this pandemic, etc.

Well, if you do get into the factory I would love to see the empty vault room. Just knowing that room held all those valuable prototypes and "firsts" of every model Hoover produced.

John......

I remember the pics you posted. Sneaking under a barrier of some sort and showing empty spaces of the once great company.

America has this thing of letting once great company facilities just rot to the ground for decades. Anything can be repurposed within reason. But I don't see a lot of 'reason' in letting them rot.....

Yes.

Well, I wouldn't call it 'sneaking', wearing a HOOVER T shirt on the property in broad daylight. lololo I'm making kitchen goodies to take with me. We'll stop in at the museum, giving me a chance to look around the old place once again. I'll be able to look for the correct details of the HOOVER door to door sales. It seems misinformation keeps getting 'out there'. Sometimes, inaccurate facts become believed by he misinformed or simply ignorant.

Well, this time next week, I'll be 'enroute'

to North Canton.
I'm picking up some neat items. Some will be gifts, some items for the VCCC raffle, some items might be sold.
It will be a wonderful trip, no doubt... no nasty jabs, innuendos, nobody making calls, no nasty mail (well, perhaps).
But, I'll share it all with ye.

I have the full set of Hoover Newsies for many years.

There are some of the I.B.A.I.S.A.I.C.copies as well as the 'Annual Report". That's the magazine issued to stock shareholders. There will be loads of them at my disposal. It will be great reading while Tom A . is giving a tour at the museum on Saturday.

Another of my favorite 'vacs of the day'

is from the 1968 "Annual Report". featuring the entire, current HOOVER line. Amazingly, I have ALMOST everything posted, save a few things. Thanks, Sam Geresti, for sending me my own copy. I'll be able to see, read, etc probably all of the 'annual Reports' when I get there. I have every issue of Hoover News for a few decades. I might have a few duplicates..... possibly available at the Scranton VCCC convention.

Well, I've made spaghetti sauce and 3 dozen meatballs

to take to N Canton. I'll also be making banana nut bread, zucchini bread, Irish soda bread, and pepper cookies. It's nice to bring a few things from the kitchen there. Tom asked me if I'd make some 'iced tea'. Sure, why not?

I' bringing some other fun things with me. I'm also bringing some fun things home with me, namely, 2 Convertibles that belonged to our dear friend, Michael Turner.
Getting things ready................

Was the model 60

....much the same as the perivale 612?

If so it was probably the easiest cleaner, in my opinion to strip and service next to the goblin 102 upright (circa 1968-75ish)

There were so many 119s(us 115) and 612s sold in between 1949-57.

Regards, Walter.

Oh My!

3 ovens?! I only thought you had 1, that electric or gas bill is going to be through the roof!

Secrets will soon be revealed if the antics continue! Remember doors are always closed for a reason! Those who throw stones at glass houses will have boulders shatter theirs!
