I stopped in to see my dear friend John Gregory last week to pick up some Type A HEPA bags and John had a surprise for me and a gift for my mother.
The surprise for me was a beautiful Hoover Legacy from November of 1997.
The gift for my mother was a beautiful 1981 Hoover U4303 Convertible. The very machine that my mother got as a wedding present, that she ran until it died a tragic death in a basement flood 5 years ago. We never thought we would ever see this rare promotional model again.
The U4303 was the very first round handle 1060 shape hood Convertible to use the new Type A bag. It's 1980-1982 production launched the high style and absolutely beautiful Convertible line of the 80s.
It was replaced in 1982 with the U4349 blue striped top fill Convertible line.
Photos below. The Convertible is so minty like new that you would swear it came from "The Vault"
