I spoke with Amtrak yesterday and they told me I cannot bring the Whirlwind on the train with me. Further, there is no baggage claim at the Austin station. I don't dare ship it privately, so while I will be there, the oldest vacuum cleaner will not. Next year however, I will have all my non electric's cleaned and ready to show. As for my friends in the Lehigh valley area of PA. you are welcome to see the Whirlwind in person.

I'm chomping at the bit to be there, can't wait and am counting the days.

To Nathan Thomas re. the Electrolux C-A

Hi Nathan:
When we talked about my getting the Electrolux C-A that covered both the cost of the vacuum cleaner and shipping. I was hoping to save you the shipping cost and bring it home with me on the Amtrak, but as stated above there is no baggage service in Austin. I need you to see how we can get the C-A shipped here. Yes, I want to see, and use it at the convention. There is also a good chance that I can take it on the Amtrak with me and unloaded in Philly, as that is a main baggage area, the snag will be getting it onto the train in Austin. So please look into this for me.

See you at the convention. Oh, by the way I will be getting in on Wedensday June 2nd so I can be there to help welcome
members.

Please check into this and other shipping procedures.

Your buddy,

Fantastic news, Alex Taber is now very happy!

My buddy Nathan has just transfered all the anger of not being able to bring the Whirlwind to the convention into extreme pleasure. He is going to ship the Electrolux C-A that has been on the top of my wish list since I first used it back in the early 1960's.

I was going to show it off at the convention, but as he pointed out, as the C-A will be boxed I won't be able to show it, so why not ship it now.

This looks like a very good year, most of my vacuum cleaners are home. Once again I have access to records, newsletters, pictures, ads, instruction books and things that have sat in a dark, dusty storage unit for exactly three and a half years. The vacuum cleaners can now be cleaned, polished and displayed, along with the hoses, attachments, and optional tools. In a few months the Charles H. Brookreson memorial vacuum cleaner room will by up and running. (I dedicated my collection to my partner Charles right after he died in July of 06.) And taking center stage will be the coveted Electrolux C-A.

Thank you Nathan, you are indeed a friend.

God bless you!
