I just got a NOS replacement outer bag for my 1980 Eureka 1940A. I'd love to learn more about these replacement bags.

Third Party?
If I had to guess, I'd say it's a generic third party replacement because of the "Upright" script where my green one says "Eureka" (see photo). The graphics on yours are changed from the original just enough to avoid trademark infringement. Generic replacement parts like that were fairly common back when things were built to last and be repaired but in today's age of extreme disposability, not so much.
