I bought a replacement hepa filter for my guardian upright, the post motor hepa directly from the aerus website. I cannot figure out how to take the filter off. Do you have to take the machine apart to do this!?

Changing the filter

All you have to do is pull it off the machine. It does have a double sided seal tape plus some clips holding it on. I use a putty knife and start on one side. Push the putty knife down to break the seal and then you should be able to pull it off. Once it's off you are going to have to remove the rest of the seal from the machine. After that use the alcohol prep that came with the new filter and clean the area. Put the bottom in first and push the top to the machine, apply some pressure for about 30 seconds and you are good to go. Anytime you pull the old filter off it breaks the clips on the filter housing so make sure you dry run the fit of the new filter as well with the protective tape cover still intact.
