Aerus introduces a cordless upright

By the way...

I'll add that I called the telephone # for Aerus at the Bristol factory. It was late at night, but I got the following message: "Thank you for calling Aerus-Electrolux. We are unable to take your call at this time, but if you'll leave your name and number, we'll get back to you.

Certainly doesn't sound like a closed, empty plant.

Yes, I work at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum in St. James, MO at the Tacony Factory.
The Riccar Prima and the Simplicity Wonder are excellent machines. A new Tandem-Air power nozzle is forthcoming in June, and those two models will be built in St. James as well. I would wait until the Tandem-Air Wonder/Prima comes out to buy a Tacony canister. It won't be long. I'll be showing it at the Vacuum Collectors Convention, the second weekend in June - so there will be LOTS of pictures of the Convention on Vacuumland.

rebranding other vacuums

With Aerus rebranding several products now instead of making their own, you can't help but wonder if they are still in good shape financially. Their cordless upright is a rebranded Tacony model, and the Guardian Platinum is a European vacuum made by Lux International. I wonder if Aerus no longer has the funds to design new models themselves, of course, their classic is still a great model that they designed themselves.

I really believe these cordless vacuums are the future of vacuum cleaners. It also means that the exact same vacuum can be sold in 220v and 110 v countries just with the charging unit been changed.

Thats good news for a relatively small market like mine.

The Aerus Lite and the Aerus Lite Cordless are the same thing as the Simplicity Freedom Standard S10S and the Simplicity Freedom Cordless S10CV. Same goes with Riccar as well such as the R10S and the R10CV. Cleanmax also has a Cordless version as well but it's a commercial model.

Cordless weight

@dysonman1 - How is the weight of the Tacony cordless vs. the corded version? I have the corded version (bought from here) and it's fantastic. One of (but hardly the only) reasons it's good is the light weight. If the cordless somehow manages to maintain the nimbleness of the corded model despite having a heavy battery, it must be a wonderful machine.

I hear a lot of complaints about 'no attachments', but rather like the fact that this vacuum does one thing extremely well and doesn't have a bunch of extra hoses and attachments.
