Greetings everyone. I've had my account waiting review for awhile and apparently it's been activated so I can join the group!

I got started with old vaccums by finding a 50s Electrolux in the junkyard and having it be my main vaccum for a year. Eventually I moved into one of the bedrooms in my house with carpet and it struggled. So I got an Electrolux Sierra/olympia one with the v3 i believe power brush. From there i got a carpet scrubber that I don't have the model offhand I've yet to find pads for my main rooms vinyl floors. One of the three brush types that's upright with the tank in the middle.

I'm sold on the quality of old vacuums and can't say I'll buy new again so I hope to have a good time with other appreciators of old vaccums.

Welcome to the forum. As you learn more, you will find yourself wanting more vacuums. You can spend a lot, or spend little in this hobby.
I'm already 240 bucks in. But that was for shipping the olympia and had alot of accessories. Even a stair cleaner new in box.

I can definitely see myself getting another smaller Electrolux hand vaccum.

They definitely don't make them like they used to, which is all the more reason to preserve and enjoy the ones we have. Welcome!
They absolutely don't. I'm still blown away how low the volume is of my Electrolux's. My previous ones screamed so loud and high pitched I actually needed my mowing ear protectors. With these you can have a casual conversation as you vaccum.
