I've noticed that

sometimes, if you search for, say, 'Hoover', some listings don't show up unless you do a title & description or an International search. I suspect this was one of them...

On reflection, I feel more sorry for the seller than any of us!

Hmmm, I did not realize these models are so rare.

I've seen many over the years and have indeed given away or thrown out several.

Now, if this had been a Hoover Duster, I'd understand all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, hahaha!

Ah Charles,

Well, they might be pretty common in the States, but in the UK they're almost impossible to find! The 2106 was the first UK market Portable (out of just three versions), and the one that was on Ebay UK is the first 2106 I (and I suspect other UK collectors) have ever seen!

A lot of models popular in the USA are rare over here - the Portable, DAM, Concept One and TOL Celebrities are all seldom found here. On the other hand, we can find Juniors a lot more easily...

Charles..........

They are indeed fairly common over your side of the pond....

However over here they are just about the most difficult post war Hoover to find :(.

I have the US version of this, mod 2100- sadly with a smashed lid due to the crappy packing by the Ebay seller. However this problem is shortly to be fixed :).

We only had 3 versions- this one and 2 Seal Greige/Pumpkin versions, one with and one without the cord reel.

Hope this explains the annoyance lol!!!

Ah yes

I did not know they were only plentiful here in the U.S.

Wish I still had the ones I had had; I would have been delighted to ship them abroad to new and appreciative homes!
