A very pristine, great example of my new toy

Today, for £20, I got a brand new (well, a "used once") Dyson DC04 Absolute+ Vacuum cleaner.
It has no scratches, apart from underneath, a large, not so deep scratch on the cleaner head and a few on the motor case. This vacuum is not much, but slight UV discoloured. It had no hose, which was not mentioned in the description, but I didn't care because I had a temporary silver lime hose for it.

Those filters are a DISASTER for only being used once! Maybe that's why they only used it once!

Nope, they put it away till they got the rest of the tools, but they never got round to it... That is wt they said, and I think it has been used a few times judging by the hair balls in the end cap which were a bit small, so might have seem a few uses, and the brushbar bristles are looking good.

We also had 7 DC04's in the past, and none of them had filter which get as dirty and as quickly as one use.

Also take a look at the post motor filter, and the serial number does not mention Malaysia, so must be a. British made machine
FYI the DC04 is a pretty good machine they are reliable, last long, quiet, powerful and lighter than some other uprights, along with a large capacity, Dyson engineered airflow ducts and great tools. The on board tools on the DC04 are my favourite

That's still a LOT of filter rubbish for only a few uses!

Like I said, I had 7 DC04's in the past, one of them which I still own, and is working fine in our house.
All 7 DC04's took a while to get this dirty. I imagine they vacuumed up some weird stuff, even the bin had some dried on dirt which must have been wet before. Maybe a lot of fine dust in their house, and then they vacuumed up moisture . Not sure, but still a great bargain for £20

I will use this Dyson DC04 for a week, and post a pic to see how it copes after 1 week in our 5 bedroom multi floored house.

I share your enthusiasm but...

You don't do yourself any favours admitting to the kind of home you stay in, Tayyab; any vacuum cleaner that has to clean up that many rooms, carpets etc will bound to get a dirty filter of some sort. Im totally confused as to what you are expecting.

It doesn't matter whether it is a bagged or bagless vac in question. Whatever is in the air will fall to the floor and the vacuum will pick that up and then filter whatever else is left through the filters.

I had the "pleasure" of owning a DC04 once. Once was enough. A good design in some respects though the noise of the hose/suction through the handle was a bit of a pain to put up with.

I have many DC04 variations, and like them all. The Zorbster is my favorite. Congrats on a cool looking '04.

Thank you Tom my first DC04 was an Absolute+ model in 2008, my favourite is also the Zorbster model, I also like the De Stijl and silver lime model
Cool, Narayan. Its good that you liked your DC04, I like them, probs one of the best made, shame about the fragility though, and what you said is very true.
