Recently I received a call from my grandmother and unfortunately her garage that was seperate from her house caught fire. Most of everything was ruined and soaked in wet soot. I had several things stored in this garage from years past which most was lost. However upon cleaning out all of the burnt rubbish, I looked underneath an old what used to be work beach and found an Electrolux I had stored away and had been forgotten. I thought surely that it wouldn't even work since it had gotten so hot inside the garage that the siding had melted on the outside of the building. To my surprise it powered on and run perfectly. I could not believe it. There was a Dirt Devil bagless sitting within 6 feet of the Electrolux but it was melted into a pile of nothing. Somehow the Electrolux survived. I plan to clean this beauty up and anytime anyone asks I will always have a story to tell about this amazing machine.

That's pretty amazing. No doubt it was shielded by the workbench it was under. I'm guessing the Dirt Devil was in a more exposed position.

Tragic but heart warming.

It is terrible to hear that about your grandmother and her belongings, I wish you all the best in recovering and restoring what you can. But what a lovely little glimmer of joy? As a collector that's heart warming to see it survive, and so well at that.
