A question about Lux XXX

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Hello to one and all and warm sunshine greetings to those affected by storms.</span>


 


<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">I have two Electrolux model XXX's.  One in NY and one in Florida, both with the 535 watt motor.  Both taken apart and cleaned thoroughly.</span>


 


<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">However, the Florida one has better suction.   Any idea or suggestions?  The NY one has a much older bag in it and I just bought a new bag, hoping that might help.</span>


 


<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Do you think the new bag will do the trick?</span>


<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Any other suggestions?</span>


 


<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">When I get back up north (early April) I'm hoping I can improve the suction.</span>

Hello Greg!!!!

how is the rubber gasket on the one up here in ny? usually those tend to dry rot and crack or break. also the bag could be another issue. I would hand wash the bag in a mild detergent and let it air dry, hopefully that will help

Are you comparing the suction based on results from the hose end or without the hose in place? Do they both still have the original woven cloth hoses? If so, then one hose could be leaking more than the other.

Comparing...........

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">suction at the hose ends.  Both are replacement vinyl hoses.  However one is a bigger diameter by, maybe 1/4 in, than the other.</span>

That could..

Increase the airflow, I would about bet the gasket on the motor or bag one or maybe both are cracked or just deteriorated and shrunk, this is an easy fix.
