A Pimped Out Kirby 505

After an email exchange with the seller, he finally told me this is a Model 505. The power switch threw me. So in the first message, I told him he had either a Model 513, 514, or 515. He then sent a message back indicating that the original power switch had been replaced. In a second email, he finally told it is indeed a 505. However, the headlight trim is throwing me now. I guess the headlight cover must have been modified to accept that style trim. Then there's the issue with the belt lifter. IDK.

Yes I even had one that was very similar, mine was decked out in Blue like the tradition and it was a 509. I am sure someone just put that switch on they will fit the older models. I also remember seeing the older Kirbys decked out in Tan and in Green. I have a feeling because the tan was with the sanatronics and Dual 50 and of course the green for the Dual80. Yes my headlight cover on my 509 in blue, fit very sloppy and you can figure it did not match the original light cover.
I kept it just because it was a 509 and I wanted to rebuilt it back into original. I did get a set of grey trims from my Kirby dealer here in Denver he had one set left.

I also have a 509 or 508 that has been buffed it is completley apart each peice was wrapped in newspaper, one day I will put it together.

I emailed the seller and asked for some additional photos of the handle grip and bottom. The handle grip (as you would guess) is red. The Sani-Emtor tray is gray. Would the 505 tray have been gray? But the thing that concerns me most is that the model plate is completely missing. Plus, I didn't see the screw holes for the Bakelite wiring junction that would have been below the original power switch. Maybe they just weren't clear in the photo or were covered up by the new switch. I kind of think the seller may be trying to pass off a new model for a 505. It's hard to tell without the model plate.

The sani-emptor bottom on the 505 is black phenolic plastic, a different material from the later plastic dumpers.

If this is a 505, it's hard to know it because there's not even a vestige of it left in the trim and housing -- even the handle fork is later -- note how it is "filled in" whereas the original fork was hollow. The only real way to tell, I guess, would be to get into the motor and have a look at it. But I doubt it would be worth the effort given the amount this seller wants for the machine.
