Great find.
There's something about the design of the older Miele's that reminds me of the squared off styled BMW cars, like the 80's 5-Series etc- unmistakeable looks & absolute solid quality.
 
Oh yes thank you, it must have been one of the first to use this hose as a good deal of cleaners like this had a more conventional wand, without the double-swivel.
 
Benny, I think this is a later machine of this style that overlapped with the first of the newer shape, making this one the budget machine. Kind of like the S380 being on sale at the same time as the S5.
 
Thank you for explaining. For what it is worth, I always preferred the newer models with rounded fronts, because despite the chancel and durability of this style, the box-like design was harder to pull round and the cleaner more likely to get stuck around furniture. Of course, the reliability of these cleaners was such that it was rare they ever needed repair, so I saw very few.
