A friend gave me my Hoover electric knife to replace a Hoover electric knife that sadly grew legs and left me. I love my Hoovers.

Nice little collection! Not many people know Hoover made small kitchen gadgets. I have one of the irons and the electric skillet myself.

I agree, just about any appliance from that era would be superior to its modern plasticrap counterpart. That said, I would have a little trouble with the position of that iron's cord, being left-handed. More often than not, when something is configured to make it easier for a right-hander to use, it becomes more difficult, awkward, and sometimes dangerous, for a left-hander.

Did Hoover actually manufacture any of those or were they sourced from other OEM's? The mixer looks like an Oster (Sunbeam), Can Opener looks like a Rival my folks had when I was a kid, and the Percolator is similar to one offered by Sears. Wish you could get quality units like those today.

The famed HOOVER (hoovrah) cleaners have a place in the modern home. Even The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel loved mine. The second to the last episode features my HOOVER prominently. What would we do without pictures? Two more of my "Mid Century Modern" machines will be on TV during the next season.
