Today we launched a competition giving away a reconditioned Dyson DC24 in December.

The object of the exercise is increase our exposure on social media, get us some likes, follows and shares, etc. So we decided the best way to do that was to give away a DC24 a week before Christmas.

Having watched a similar promotion in the US, we decided to have one in the UK.

We’re on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Google+ and we want you to come find us and show us you want this Dyson. Just follow/like us on these social networks and share, retweet, or repin our contest banner for your chance to win!

No catch, no strings. And other models are available in case a DC24 is not sturdy enough for the winner. All we ask is a photo of the winner with their new machine when they get it.

I would like to take part! I really want this.

I was born in 1998 and grew up with a DC01 standard with a YDK motor, since I was able to use a computer I always browsed for Dyson on the internet, I studied Dyson, google images was like dyson heaven and I was so overwhelmed. This continued I got my first Dyson which was a DC03 in 2006 after a good school report in year 3 my dad bought it for me as a surprise. When I first saw the wand, I instantly knew it was a DC04 or DC03 because of the wand handle shape, but it was a DC03 which put a smile on my face and I was jumping around in total joy!
1 year later, me and a DC03, I was only 7 years old and the DC03 did fall apart, every single part was cracked apart from the tools, bin insert and wheels. I loved it that much that even after all that I was very grateful, the clutch belt snapped once in use after it was really worn, after that I used the snapped wand end with sellotape and used a vax stair tool on the end for daily vacuuming. I loved Dyson that much!

Today, I am a 14 year old teenage boy (15 in 13th November)
9 DC01's. a DC02, a DC03, 4 DC04's,a DC05, 6 DC07's, a DC08, 3x DC14's and a DC25 later, I am a true fan, I had to sacrifice a DC14 unfortunately for a relative who had a broken vax power 6, and I miss it so much that I feel lost without my DC14 blitz it. I am currently watching a DC24 on eBay its currently £25 with a faulty brushbar motor.

If I win this DC24, it would be a God send! I also discovered Mvacs last year and love it, I used to love going on eBay and looking at the pics of dysons, and even dysonmedic.com and dysonmedic.co.uk
Such fun!

Parwaz, what a great tale. Thanks for sharing your experience!

When we first started our shop, I remember trailing out to Glossop for an old DC03 I won on eBay. It was necessary stock as we had about four machines in the place and a few boxes of old crap from old machines.

If you get near our way, give me a call ahead of time and you can come have a snoop around our back and upstairs rooms. We are now stacked to the rafters with Dyson swag.

The promotion is going OK up to now after a slow start. It will hopefully gather momentum over the weekend. We are new to Facebook and cant even access stats and other functions till we have 100 "likes". On Twitter things are better, a couple of minor celebs we know have helped out and we are now getting retweets. I am trying to get a local radio presenter from Revolution (that we advertise on) I know down to choose the winner, it will be a fun way to tie the competition up next month.

No it's perfectly fine ManchesterVacs. We normally ask that all for profit businesses get our permission first, but we would have given it to you for sure. We are glad you are here on Vacuumland. Thanks for letting our UK members know.

My story is true :) and cool! its great that your business is growing, I never bought off you unfortunately and cant visit as I live in Birmingham :( but I like to find bargain Dysons at carboot sales or eBay, Gumtree, Preloved, Freecycle etc etc
Cheers Mvacs

Unimatic, thanks for the retrospective permission, I guess I should have asked first.
