Uh huh, another Dyson followed me home last Saturday. I was visiting my friends vac shop and initially pulled the DC15 out of the back to compare it to a Miele S7 in regards to going low profile under a very low coffee table. My friend said make me an offer on it, I ended up getting it for $20.
The only issues with this machine is the power nozzle motor has a short in it (when you push and pull the cleaner, the brush roll will sometimes work, or if you fiddle with the switch), the clear orange bin handle is cracked in half (hasn't detached yet), and it's missing the little guard over the hose on the handle. Besides those issues the machine looks almost unused, the bin is still very clear as well as the clear housing on the brush roll.
Can one of our Dyson experts help me out with fixing the brush roll issue (Jack & Shanon)? I think the cyclone assembly is the same one used on the DC14. The handle looks like it's glued on in the front, and I can see a screw securing it from the back. Would I be able to purchase just the handle, or would I have to buy a whole new bin lid with the handle?
I don't have any pictures because I didn't bring my camera with me to my aunts house, and she didn't have any batteries for her camera, and it's still at my aunts house at the moment. I'll be able to get some in February, however.
There is one feature I like on this machine versus the DC24 and DC25, the ribs on the ball have little rubber strips on them so it's easier on the machine and hard floors. I also like the metal rug plate too (which doesn't have a single scratch, that's how seldom this was used)!
