Blast from the past!

I have been looking for a decent video of this particular SteamVac; my grandma owned it a long time ago, and my dad borrowed it from her around 2002 (when I was 8 years old) to deep clean the white carpet in my then-new house. So I have quite a bit of nostalgia for this machine.

I always thought that this machine was fairly loud, despite being billed as "quiet." I covered my ears whenever the machine was running. I don't recall my grandma owning the hose accessory for it, so my dad did something a bit crazy for the dining room chairs: he picked up the entire machine and pulled it across the chairs to deep clean them.

Sadly, that was the extent of our experience with the SteamVac Supreme before returning it to my grandma some time later. The machine must have been thrown out 1-2 years later.

I have a #5899-910

It is the most dependable machine I've ever had. Hasn't cost a penny in repairs and works as good as it did new. About once a year I run a little CLR or vinegar through the machine, letting it sit for about 15 min then release the rest and suck it up and follow with clear water. If you have hard water this helps keep the system clear of mineral deposits. Good machine!
