I've pulled my Heritage II out of storage but have no bags for it. Will the newer allergy friendly bags work? How about the newest style bags? Looking on the Kirby website makes me feel that the bag opening's are pretty much the same. Am I right? Thanks!

Greg,

The quick answer is Yes, the newest Kirby cloth style HEPA bags will fit on your Heritage II Legend. This includes the allergy friendly bags.

You will notice that your H2 will have better cleaning performance than it did with the old style paper bags.

You can use any Kirby disposable bag with a circular opening just so long as it isn't strictly the "F" style bag. Bags which are strictly "F" style do not have notches cut in the cardboard collar for the two little lugs on your Kirby's bag elbow. Your vacuum needs to use bags with the collar cutouts for the lugs.

Most Kirby disposable bags are universal--they should have cutouts for the lugs and the mounting components for the "F" style elbows. These are the bags I use in every Kirby I own, including my Heritage I, Heritage II, and my G-Series machines.

I would highly recommend the genuine Kirby "Universal Style" HEPA bags made from the synthetic white cloth material. As sptyks said, you will notice an increase in performance. Additionally, you will find that the suction will not drop off so much as the bag fills and your Kirby's outer bag will stay dust-free. Cleaner air is better for you, too!

Good Luck!
