I knew that a tank-model Westinghouse vacuum cleaner had been used on the "I Love Lucy" show, the model called the "Handy Dandy Vacuum Cleaner" in the "Sales Resistance" episode.
Well, today I watched two Lucy episodes back to back on tv, and they both featured an upright Westinghouse, and in both shows Lucy was using it to vacuum in the living room. One of the episodes is where Ricky accidentally gives Lucy a black eye when he throws a book toward her, and then other is where they go out to eat and Lucy can't make up her mind what to choose.
Anyway, in both cases it was the same Westinghouse in the link below -- I could clearly see the distinctive "forked" handle and the light-toned belt access cap. The only difference was that the bag was lighter in color - hard to tell in black and white, but it appeared to be tan or perhaps very light gray. I would guess tan since that's the color of the belt cap. The dark-red bakelite housing, of course, appeared as black.
I knew that she had used a Hoover (a 28, I think?, with a lot of business using the attachments) and a Premier upright, but had never noticed this Westinghouse upright before, even though I have seen both episodes many times.
