Hi, I am wanting to buy a vintage Kitchenaid that's not solid state and is a true work horse! I am interested in buying a mixer like this one in the picture. I know these were made in the 30s and a few I found are only 3 speeds. My questions are: whats the wattage? Are they good mixers? Can you use a newer style bowl and paddle/dough hook/whisk attachments? I know these mixers were the first ones to use the interlocking bowl. Any help or info would be much appreciated! I collect vintage mixers, restore, and rebuild them. I am no expert when it comes to Kitchenaid! I know I want a Hobart model back. Thank you! :) -Michelle

K4-B

I have an old K4-B. This is a pre solid state model, though it still has 10 speeds. Attachments from the newer model will fit on the post, however the bowl capacity is only 4 quarts so they are too big for the bowl. However since KitchenAid is selling a 4 qt model now the attachments from that one might work in this one. Hub attachments will work just fine though. The bowl interlock on this particular model is different from the newer ones. Power draw is rated at 1.5 amps. I would sell this machine if you are interested in buying it. It runs just fine, however I only have the whisk attachment for it.
